22 Ways To Create Compelling Content
Have you been told If you have a business or are considering starting one you will need content? Maybe that leaves you wondering what in the world is "content"?
No worries because I'm going to share some tips on what content and content marketing means.
Content is anything you use to communicate with your potential customers/clients. It's the message you are putting out to world in order to market, advertise or share.
Blog posts are content. Email messages are content. Your newsletter is content.
Did you realize when you pin photos, videos etc that you are sharing "content."
Your potential customers will find you because of the content you create.
Now that you know content is the message and medium you use to communicate with your potential customers what is content marketing?
Content marketing is using content to "market" to your audience. In other words it's your message. What is it you want them to know about you, your company or your products and services.
In order to have an effective content marketing strategy your content needs to be compelling, engaging and make your target audience take the action you want them to take.
When I talk to clients about content marketing I always advice them to put their personality into their message. My book: The Secret Equation To Attracting More Clients: Marketing+ P Factor+ Video= $$$$ talks about your personality (P Factor). It's what makes you unique and different than your competition. You need to harness that power and use it.
Now let's get back to the infographic above. There is so much you can learn from this when it comes to using content marketing in your business.
If you need inspiration jot down 10 of your favorite blog posts from your favorite blogs. That's from point one.
Remember you want the information you write about to be relevant to your audience.
For example if you have a blog that focuses on software then chances are you wouldn't be writing about a recipe you found. That's not what your audience is looking for.
Number two's suggestion for having brain storming sessions is another great idea.
When I attend networking events I always ask people what their challenges are. This guides me as to what I can write about and the business courses I create for The MINE System of Learning.
I enjoyed tip number eighteen that mentioned taking a walk. In my office I have a spinning bike and when I need to take a break I hop on my bike and off I ride! Exercising is a great way to change things up and start thinking in a totally different direction.
The question is: Does this post and the infographic make the thought of being a content creator easier for you?
