Every business is looking for a way to stand out from the competition. There are many marketing strategies to do that and podcasting is one of them. What you might not realize is podcasting is bigger than you think.
Podcasts are mp3 files that can be streamed and downloaded.
Each episode covers a different topic.
The exciting news is that podcasts are becoming more popular.
As a podcaster I'm always looking for new research to back up how powerful podcasts can be.
Recently I came across a study from Edison Research called "Share of Ear" and I wanted to share those findings with you.
One statistic that fascinated me was: Americans listen to approximately 21,117,000 hours of podcast audio each and every day (click to Tweet).

One of the things I love about podcasting is that it's another way to gain online visibility and show your personality.
Instead of people reading your post they can listen to it and hear your voice. This creates more of a one to one experience.
The key to getting people to subscribe to your show is first to let them know it exists and second to have content that resonates with your ideal audience. If it does you will have people anxiously awaiting your next episode.
Another great feature about podcasts is that you can gain insight on a wide variety of topics from wherever you are.
You can be exercising, running, traveling to and from work and listen.
