All of us who create content work hard at crafting our message. It's all about providing valuable information for our readers. We may work for hours thinking, planning and putting together our thoughts. When we hit the publish button we feel it's worthy of sharing and dare I say going viral! All too often our hopes for that are dashed. Why isn't our awesome content going viral? The answer might be in this fabulous infographic....
5 reasons you content isn't going viral
Everyone talks about their content going viral. Why? It's because it can skyrocket your brand. The problem? It's not easy to go viral.
The 5 Reasons start with....
1) Lack of emotional appeal
2) Not share worthy
3) Bad timing
4) Poor design
5) Poor distribution
As you can see you have to prepare and have all the proper elements in place. Even with that there's no guarantee your content will go viral.
In other posts I've talked about story telling being an important part of your marketing message. People tend to be more engaged when there's a story involved. Stories help people remember the message you want them to.
In a mini workshop online I recently talked about YouTube not being the only place to put your videos. As you can see in the infographic there are 4 other places mentioned.
2) Yahoo Video
I also mentioned that you've taken the time to create your video. You can't sit back and think just because you posted it to YouTube it will get rave reviews. You need to distribute it in as many places as possible for maximum exposure. Are you also putting your videos on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter, Google+, your own website?
You need to learn to market your content so that as many people as possible are exposed to it. When you do you have a better chance of making it go viral.
What points did you enjoy from the infographic?
