![]() The other day I was watching an episode of House Hunters. The couple were looking for a house in the Caribbean. As they were searching the wife kept mentioning that she wanted to start blogging and wanted a room with a view. I can totally relate to that. When we changed locations for my office I made sure that I could see plenty of greenery. It's one of the perks of being your own boss (choosing the location of your office space). Then something interesting happened. I watched another episode and low and behold the women was starting a blog! It made me think about the variety of people starting a blog. When I found this infographic from the folks over at ignite I had to share it. These statistics will blow your mind! Here are just a few key points to learn from this infographic when it comes to your business. 1) Companies with blogs generate 126% more leads 2) Interesting content is one of the top 3 reasons people follow brands on social media. 3) 81% of US consumers trust advice and information from blogs Let's stop here for a moment. What is this telling you about blogging? If you don't have a blog for your business you need to start one immediately if not sooner. From personal experience I can tell you once you get into the swing of the things you will love it! If you're stuck for ideas on what to blog about then click the visual below:) Coming up with ideas seems to be one of the hardest tasks for many people. That's why I put this quick guide together for you. I believe it's also important that as we blog we build a community. One where we encourage and support each other. How can we do that? By commenting. It helps the blog owner with feedback as well as giving them the ability to engage with you. The benefit to you is that you get a link back to your blog which helps with your ranking so it's a win win for everyone. You might be thinking, "how can I go about finding blogs to comment on?". That's a great question. Do a Google search and look for blogs in your niche. Visit those blogs and get active on the ones that really resonate with you. There's no point visiting a site that you have little to no interest in. Doing that will make it harder for you to leave meaningful comments. Want to get started? Why not leave a comment with your blog link below. Let's start creating a community that supports and encourages each other. Here's another tip: write down the list of blogs you are going to follow and comment on. Make that part of your daily "to do list". You can even visit these blogs while your sitting in front of the TV. Now that's multi tasking! Now it's your turn. What facts in this infographic did you find interesting? Great infographic although I'm not totally surprised by the numbers. A couple of the highest earning blog sites I had never heard of though. I don't make much money off my website but I will say that I have made some over the law few years using affiliate links. Great way to earn a little extra $$ on the side.

Hi Paulette, Thanks for stopping by and commenting. I have found some people start a blog without thinking of monetization while others have that as their goal. There are sites like Boost Blog Traffic that make a nice income from blogging.
