Can you build a business without help?

Initially when you look at this question you might think, “Of course I can.” To a degree you are right.   But  if you want your business to grow you need help.  You need other people who can share your business message.

Recently I attended a fabulous marketing event.  There were 3 full days of training sessions ranging from those just starting a business to the seasoned pro.  As I listened at the sessions I attended I couldn't' help but think of all the potential  blog posts I could write

Each day we listened to a key note speaker and each day it was emphasized that in order to build a business you need “help”. You can't do it alone.

Help can come in many ways. Here are just a few.

1) Joint venture
2)  Affiliates
3) Coach or mentor

In business you need to be building business relationships.

Relationship marketing is a term that can be viewed differently.

For example relationship marketing can be viewed as building relationships with your customers.

What I want  you to think about is building relationships with other businesses.

Why do many people go to networking events?  Because they know other business owners will be there.  They want the opportunity to get themselves in front of them.

At any networking event you should be striving to build business relationships.  Find out how you can help them not the other way around.

Here’s a great example of how you can help other business owners.

At the one of the sessions I attended a woman had asked the instructor a question.  I knew the instructor didn't fully understand what she meant.  Afterwards I went up to the woman  and asked if she got the answer she was looking for.  When said no and I proceeded to help her.

I didn’t have to do that.  As a matter of fact I was helping her with her website and that’s a service I charge for.  So why did I do that?  I wanted to help her build her business.

Having been in business almost 30 years I've seen a lot of people try to start and grow a business.  Those who are willing to work with others and build a community are the ones who thrive and succeed.

You need to build your network (community) of people.  These people will be your raving fans.  They will support you and you in turn will support them.

One way to build your community is to join a blog challenge like I have this month.  As a matter of fact I am participating in two challenges!  Why?  I want to grow a community.

There are so many golden nuggets I have to share and being able to do that with my community whether it's in blog posts, webinars, newsletters seminars etc. is so rewarding.

Networking on and offline is crucial to the success of your business but it might feel like something that’s out of your comfort zone.

If so why not join me on April 30 at 10:00 am Eastern time  at the Business Success Café where I will be the featured speaker on the topic:  How to "Work" a Networking Event for Maximum R.O.I.

I haven't figured out the affliate or joint venture aspect yet. But, mentoring, and just plain support of others helps tremendously. Going it alone would be like Diana Nyaid swimming the ocean without her team. We all need someone.

Thanks for stopping by Nita and commenting. It's true, we all need help growing our business. Joint ventures can work really well because other people are willing to put you in front of their audience. This in turn helps you to grow your community and increases your exposure.
