First: You want your keyword in your domain name. For example if you are a photographer in a certain city you might want to choose the domain name: www.cityphotographer.com. Using the right city will attract those looking for your services.

Second: You want the keyword in your title

Third: You will also want to use this keyword in your paragraphs.

Using keywords properly will help you rank above your competitors.

If you are using WordPress you can get an SEO plugin that will help you utilize your keywords.

Use specific keywords in your blog posts so you attract the right website visitors.

It’s going to take time to do keyword research but if you don’t you will wind up losing traffic and sales.

Start using keyword research properly and see if you site starts ranking better in search engine results.

There are many areas you need to consider when starting a business.

Obviously you need to pick your niche.

Once you’ve chosen the niche for your business you need to do some keyword research. This is important if you want people to find your website.

Many budding entrepreneurs are so excited about starting a business they make the mistake of choosing their niche, launching a website but never give consideration to keyword research.

What you need to understand is that having well chosen keywords has a direct correlation with your website traffic.
When you do the proper keyword research you will be able to attract your ideal audience because you are using the words they use when surfing for information.

Think of how you search the web. You no doubt type in a keyword or phrase. Once you realize this you need to think like your ideal audience.

Keyword research is going to help rank your website or blog at the top of the results page. The better your site ranks the more traffic you will receive.

Keep in mind that using the plural of a word can change your search results.

For example if you Google the word “visual” you’ll see 1,090,000,000 results. When you type in the word “visuals” the results are 52,800,000. See the difference?

Your goal for keyword research is finding the words that will give you the best search results. You want to find keywords that have little competition but a lot of search results. You can pay a lot of money for keyword tools to help you get better results but there are free alternatives like the Google Adwords Planner.

It’s important that you understand that using the wrong keywords will result in less traffic to your site. This means you won’t be able to reach the people you are trying to help.

Using the wrong keywords can also bring the wrong audience to your site. This could be discouraging as you see people “bounce” away from your site because it’s not what they are looking for.

When the keywords however are relevant to your audience you will find people staying longer on your site.
