How much can you learn in 20 minutes? Quite a bit! It all comes down to knowing your subject and then delivering it with no fluff.
That's why watching the training at Business Success Cafe really appeals to me.
Have you ever been on a webinar and it seems like all they do is talk about themselves or they spend half the time on fluff before they get to anything that might be remotely interesting? I don't appreciate carving out time in my busy schedule to attend a webinar only to find there's no value. You won't find that on my training's or at The Business Success Cafe. I've wanted to meet the host of the show Cathy Demers for quite some time and finally I got that chance last month. When she walked into the room I knew I had to go over and introduce myself. She has such a soothing voice and is such a wonderful person. After the event we spoke on the phone and I'm going to be a featured guest on her show on April 30th at 2:00 pm Eastern time. It's free to attend. All you need to do is register here. Once you go to that page you will also find out about some of the other fabulous experts who will be on the show. Of course none of this would be possible if I didn't network. Speaking of networking that's going to be my topic!
Networking isn't just about going online and making connections. It's about getting out from behind your computer and meeting new people.
Is it a little scary going into a meeting where you don't know anyone? Well, I used to feel that way and if you join me for my presentation you will leave feeling totally different. As a matter of fact you'll start looking forward to attending networking events! In a post a wrote not long ago I mentioned how we need the help of other people to build our businesses. We are stronger when we bond together. When we get to know other people it's only natural that we want to help them spread the word about their business and they in turn do the same. By attending networking events I've been able to find speaking opportunities and meet other business owners that have challenges that I can help with. I believe there's a shift going on and that shift is towards doing business with real people. No longer are we satisfied with giving our hard earned dollars to some impersonal company. We want to know that the company we deal with understands our frustrations and can help us achieve our goals. The other day I was watching the show Food Fortunes. It's a new show on the Food Network. Initially I thought the show was all about food products but as I watched there were all kinds of non food products people were launching. One couple had a product for children. I came in at the end of the show and all I saw was the couple talking about how they hired a marketing guru who took all their money and they were 2 million Dollars in debt! They trusted the wrong person. Fortunately they did get a deal and have the opportunity to take their business to a whole new level. If you saw that episode leave the name of the product the couple was selling:) It's situations like these that have people wondering who they can trust. That's why it's so important that you show the personality behind your business. Let people get to know you, your core values and the way you operate your business. This will draw your ideal customers to you. Now it's your turn to share the benefits you've received from networking. Leave your thoughts and comments below. I totally agree Amy. There is a shift in doing business with a company that shows in words and actions that they care about others. When you do that you create a stronger and loyal customer base. Any business that does this will grow and thrive.
