How Building A Community Can Help You Succeed

One of the most overlooked aspects of starting a business is building a list of email subscribers.

Why is this so important?  Your business is based on helping people solve one problem or another.

If you aren’t able to have that message heard than how can you do that?

That’s why when setting up your website you need a way to capture your visitors name and email.

This is one way you build a loyal following who are eager to get updates and information from you. This is your community.

This article isn’t going to go into the how’s but rather
why doing this will help build  business relationships that in turn will help you grow.

Last month I heard about a contest by Start UP Nation.  They were looking for the top 100 Home Based Businesses.  There were only a few days left to the contest and yet as crazy as it sounds I entered.

What do you think I did next?  I reached out to my community my
followers!  I did this via email first.  Just imagine, if I hadn’t taken the time to build my list, where would I be?

The next thing I did was reach out to my
community ( followers) on Facebook, LinkedIn, Twitter and Google+.

Once again if I hadn’t built my
community who would I go to?

Whether you are starting a business or want to grow you business you need followers.

As you look at other companies and personal brands who have large followings you will find they used different methods.

The interesting thing is that some of them have a large social media presence while others have a larger list.  Then again some businesses have built their following by podcasting and YouTube.

With so many different directions to go in and all the advice that's out there your head might be spinning. You don’t know how to go about building
your following.

It doesn't matter what service based business you have.  In some way shape or form your business is about helping people solve some kind of problem.

In order to get the word out about your business you will find it's more important than ever to have loyal fans, followers, customers etc.

Once you have these followers they are more than willing to tell others about how their lives where changed because of working with you and your business.

Let's talk about how having a following can help your business grow.

I’m thrilled to announce that I was one of the Top 100 Home Based Businesses!  As a matter of fact according to the list I’m number 25!  How awesome is that!

When I talk to my clients about visibility we discuss the method they feel most comfortable with.  If they enjoy it they will be more apt to put the strategy into practice.

One of the first things I mention is blogging because it’s a great way for your ideal audience to get to know, like and trust you.  Once they do they are your loyal followers, your community.

This is the method I used to bring in brides when I was heavily involved in filming and photographing weddings. It’s the way I use now to attract my ideal clients who need my marketing expertise and coaching services.

I love wring and many times my clients hire me to not only help them with website creation but to  write the copy for their website so they can convey the proper message.  Let’s face, it not everyone is a writer.

Blogging as well as my two books helps people to see who I am and what I do.  It also helps them decide whether they feel we are a good fit for putting together a visual, video and content marketing strategy.

Blogging helps your online voice to be heard by those who will be your ideal clients, followers.

I really appreciate all those who took the time to vote, many doing so daily!  That meant they took the time and effort more than once to support me.  It’s refreshing to see a community come together to support someone they believe in.
