Two reasons for pre-writing when blogging. One comment I hear all the time when it comes to blogging is that it’s too hard to keep up with writing. That’s why it’s important to not only have a blogging schedule but also stick to it. One of the benefits to pre-writing your posts is that you can write when inspiration strikes. Have you ever had a flood of thoughts and all you want to do is get them on paper? That’s the time to take advantage and get writing those blog posts. You don’t have to stop at one post. Why not write two or more? Once you have that steady stream of information flowing you’ll find your writing to be fun creative and exciting. No one wants to feel forced to write. One of the best plugins I can suggest is the editorial calendar if you are using Wordpress. If you are not using Wordpress that's one reason to make the switch. With the editorial calendar you can write you posts and then schedule the time and day. When you write your posts in advance and use the editorial calendar you can keep your site fresh, which Google loves. If you have appointments or events that consume your time, having these pre-written posts will make you feel less stressed. Some people feel inspired early in the morning while others feel later in the evening works for them. Choose the best time for you and commit to writing for at least 15 minutes. That time frame is perfect to get started. You won’t feel overwhelmed and chances are once you get started you will keep going and before you know it a half hour or more has passed. Tip 1:Write down the topics you would like to write about When you sit down for your writing session choose the topic that sticks out. This is obviously the one that speaks to you. Choose your title and then start writing. If you find the body of your post takes a totally different direction you can always change your title to match the content. The important thing to keep in mind is that consistency is really important. If you are looking for website traffic, the more you write the more “attention” you will receive from Google. Make sure you have Google Analytics installed on your site so you can keep track. Tip 2: Don’t stress if people don’t leave a comment on your site. I’ve found many people love reading the content but they aren’t sure what to say so they say nothing! I write for several blogs that don’t get comments but the posts get shared reaching 500,000 people or more!
These posts wouldn’t get shared if the content wasn’t worthy of sharing. That’s more important to me than getting comments. If you really want comments on your site then start visiting other blogs in your niche and start commenting. This could potentially bring people back to your site because they want to see who you are and what you do. Commenting on other people’s blogs is a way to start building your online community. Taking the time to comment also helps you develop a relationship with the blog owner. Over time they may ask you to write a blog post for them. This would put you in front of their audience as the expert in your niche. Pre-Writing your blog posts also means when you go away on vacation no one knows! Your blogging schedule is still going strong. There are days when I start writing and find it hard to stop. I love those days! What about you? Do you write your blog posts in advance?
