As time goes on you are going to hear more and more about video marketing.  That's because it's an effective way to market your product or services.  Video can convey a message more than text alone.

Let's explore what this term means.

There are several ways to look at video marketing and we're going to discuss two of them.

Video Marketing: When we use the term here we are talking about marketing a product or service by using video.  You would create a video that is tailored to your product or service.  In the video you'd describe the product or service and how it would benefit your perspective customer.

Take a look at this video for example:

As you can see this video was created  to market a PhotoShop course I offer.  It shows you not only why you'd want to take the course but then gives you a sample of what you will learn.

If you  own a landscaping business you can have a video created that shows before and after photos of the lawns you have transformed.

If you publish a monthly newsletter you can create a video to promote it.

When it comes to video marketing you need to constantly be looking at ways to use video in your business. Once you do the ideas will continue to flow.

A Marketing Video:  In this type of video it's about branding your business.  Many times this type of campaign is used in conjunction with a social media campaign at the same time.

Let's take a look at Coca Cola and how they are using what they call the  Happiness Machine Campaign.
Companies like Coca Cola are using this method to push video across as many distribution channels at the same time.  Their goal is to get people's attention.  This particular video has over 2 million views.  I'd say that's capturing peoples attention.

I don't want you to think that just because you aren't a huge corporation you can't start creating videos for your business.  It doesn't matter what size business you have.  Even if you are a solopreneur you can use video.

Your videos need to have an objective and that objective should be to promote your brand.

Start using videos in your blog.  You can create short little videos of yourself onscreen.  Share what you say in text form as well.

Here are 4 other ways to include video in your business:
  1. Explaining details in more depth
  2. Showing people how to perform a task
  3. Talking about upcoming products
  4. Reviewing a product

You can use video for anything you'd like.   You can even create "about" videos that focuses on you and one that focuses on your company.

Approximately 70% of Internet traffic is video driven.  That percentage is constantly going up.  The time is now for you to embrace video and make it part of your marketing strategy.

The power of video continues to take off- if people were less self-conscious about how they appear, I think that more business owners would embrace it!
