There are goals that you no doubt set out to accomplish at the beginning of the year.  We are already closing out April.   Scary I know!  So how are you doing with those goals?

The beginning of the year may have found you looking at updating your website.  You may have determined that being more active on Twitter was a goal.  Then again you may have thought about ways to improve your customer service.

One thing is for sure.  Your website needs to be mobile ready.  If not you are going to face the wrath of Google.

One goal you should have for your business is being more visible. The more people see you the more chances you have of people buying your products or services.

The question is, "How do you reach your goals?"

I'm going to help you by giving you a four step process to follow.

1)  Set Goals - Categorize them as short term, mid term goal and finally your long-term goals.  Doing this enables you to reach each goal feeling a sense of accomplishment.  Celebrate those accomplishments.

2)  Plan – Now that you have your goals in mind you need a plan of action.  How will you attain each of those goals?  Get out a calendar and start writing down what you want to accomplish for the day.  At the end of the week evaluate what you wanted to do and what you accomplished.  See where you can improve make improvements.

3)  Focus – You need to focus on the most important things needed in order to reach your goals.  It’s easy to get side tracked.  That’s why the above tip of writing down what you want to accomplish is important.  When you can visualize what you need to do it’s harder to push it aside.

4)  Prioritize - This is especially true when it comes to email.  No doubt you receive many emails in your inbox.  Decide which are the ones you need to tackle and leave the rest for later.  For example if you need to respond to customer service issues that’s your top priority.  People that are sending you promotional information can be read at a later time during the day.  You could wind up wasting valuable time going through emails that have nothing to do with your goals.
